Our first AGM was held at Shree Krishna Mandir, Stoney Stanton Road, Coventry with the aim of getting to know each other and exchange idea with a view of extending our help to “OUR VILLAGE”
The meeting started with a welcome speech by Shree Motibhai who suggested that we should contact chijgamvasi in USA, Canada and other overseas countries to make joint effort for the proposed projects.
It was reported that the road from Pitya Falia to Ranabhatha was completed but the road from Pitamber Falia to Pitya falia remains to be considered. We decided to obtain more information about this project. However it was unanimously agreed that we should first undertake to build a Crematorium and with that in mind five prominent members from our GAM , Ramanbhai L. Patel, Vinubhai R. Patel, Mohanbhai B. Patel Chhotubhai C. Patel and Motibhai N. Patel were selected to assist in carrying out this project. We received a very enthusiastic response from them and soon a plan of the site was drawn up at an estimated cost of Rs. 1 Lakh, which was approved. It was suggested that Jilla Panchyat would assist with Rs 35,000 grant, which did not materialise.
