The 7th Annual Chijgam Picnic was held on August 10th, 2002 at Centennial Park in Etobicoke, Ontario. The picnic started at 11:00 am and the fun continues on until at least 9:00 pm. The incredible weather of August made for an enjoyable day for the 100 plus attendees.

The picnic’s are organized and funded by various members of Chijgam.

Food is brought by many of the attendees, however the Goat and Chicken is prepared onsite. Additional items are made by volunteers at their free will.

Activities for the children include go-carting, pin the tail on the donkey, piñata’s and water fights. Prizes are also awarded to the children.

Activities for the adults include Volleyball and Cricket. The volleyball matches usually get quite competitive as there are a number of great players.

The picnics offer people time to catch up with one and another, and spend quality time together. Ever year since 1996 when the first picnic was held, the event has been a great success.
